M.Phil. is a one year (full time) or two years (part time) programme. M.Phil. Degree shall have the status of an intermediate Degree between the first Post-Graduate Degree and the Doctorate Degree.
The M.Phil. Program can be pursued either on a Full-Time basis or on a Part-Time basis.
Full-Time Program: The duration of the Full-Time M.Phil. Program (including dissertation) shall be one year.
Part-Time Program: The duration of the Part-Time M.Phil. Program (including dissertation) shall be two years.
Specialisation: M.Phil. in Commerce/English/Economics
An applicant seeking admission to the M.Phil. program must have obtained at least 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) marks or equivalent grade points in the Master’s Degree from any recognized University/Department.
Admission to the M.Phil. program shall be done by the M.Phil. Admission Committee based on the satisfactory performance of the applicant in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University.
Student shall fulfil the minimum attendance criteria of University to appear at the Semester End (University) Examination.
There shall be Continuous (Internal) Evaluation (40%) and Semester End (University) Examination (60%). The internal component may include Mid-Semester Exam, Practical, Project, Field work, Internship, Assignment, Presentation, Quiz, Synopsis, Theme Paper,etc.
For each course (subject/paper) the passing marks shall be 40% aggregate [Continuous (Internal) Evaluation + Semester End (University) Examination].
